Sword Art Online PS3 Theme by DontFearTheClowns Sword Art Online PS3 Theme by DontFearTheClowns
16/08/2013 SORRY IT'S TAKEN SO LONG GUYS!!!!
FINALLY got around to updating this.....although there's nothing NEW per se.....I HAVE UPDATED ALL EXISTING ICONS. they look 50THOUSAND TIMES BETTER. cleaner; zero pixelation; awesome!! next, I'll be adding the SD backgrounds as promised; and then I'll move onto making more icons :iconspinplz:

A simple ps3 theme I created using PS3 Theme Builder 2.5
I previously did it on 3.0, although for some reason its not working now and refuses to do anything, so I had to revert back to the previous version update i used the 4.0 beta this time around 16/08/2013

I made all the Icons myself on Gimp 2.6 ( :iconexcaliburfaceplz: ) Icons have now been remastered on photoshop and illustrator CS6,
Sourced from the internet were the wallpapers used in this theme (there's about 10 backgrounds; i'll find the sources and post here IF YOU FIND A WALLPAPER YOU MADE, PROVE IT TO ME, AND I WILL PUT YOU IN AN ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS SECTION OF THIS POST/WHATEVER)

I tried to make it as close to the GUI from SAO, so this is the best I could do :P

I have included all the Icons and Wallpapers I used, so you can use them for whatever~ ^_^

(unfortnately dA doesn't seem to recognise the .p3t file...wierd : So I zipped it :P )
To install it on your PS3, grab a USB, dowload and extract the .zip, and copy the file named "PS3" straight onto your USB. (I've already saved it under the correct files, so don't worry ^_^ )
Jack it in, turn on your PS3, go to:
Settings>Theme Settings
and somewhere there, there should be an "install theme" option somewhere (either in the next menu window by pressing X, or in the sub-menu thingo by pressing the triangle button).
Then all you have to do is set it as your theme ^_^

If you have installed it, and the backgrounds do not show; DO NOT WORRY! This is because your TV's resolution isn't high enough, as I have only put in HD wallpapers for the time being, and will put in SD ones later so you can view them, and when I can find one's that are the right resolution.
Alternatively, you could find a picture yourself and make that into your background ^_^

v1.0:
All main XMB Icons implemented, plus a few more.
Includes 10 HD Wallpapers.

v1.1:
Remastered ALL previously made Icons- they look amazing compared to the last ones.

TO DO:
- Implement SD Wallpapers.
- Make more Icons.
- Re-do some icons (i.e. the message icons) so that they don't look like crap.
- Maybe find more wallpapers (but I think 10 is enough :P).
- Insert sounds (I'm trying to find the ones from the anime, if anyone could give me a link to some that would be great, otherwise ima have to cut them myself; or make my own).
- Re-do the notification image (right now its just yellow with a black stripe >.> ). I've reverted to the default used by PS3 Theme Builder

v1.2:COMING SOON

What exactly needs to be done, anyway? Like, what tools would I need?
You said it'd take about 5 minutes. I could convert it to the sizes you specify, then give you the converted file(s).

its not hard at all; all ive got to do is find a smaller resolution image and put it in via the program, click a few buttons and bam. one ps3 theme ^^;
my actual problem is getting access to a computer which will actually RUN the program (as mine is dead, and has no moneys to fix/replace).

As i've said before; alternatively you can just download a low res image and put make it your wallpaper via the photo viewer thinamajig on the xmb ^^;

Alright, is it just the backgrounds that need resizing, or do the icons need shrinking, too?
And also, specific pixel sizes would be nice. I want these to as high quality as possible while still running on SD TVs.

just go to a website that has them (search Sword art online wallpapers....or any other anime or whatevs) and shoose the highest resolution they have ^^; for sd for instance, (they'll have specific aspect ratios and what not).... ~500 x 800 px is good for SD, for HD, you want anything more than 1000px....im no expert so I'm probably wrong but ohwell ^^;
Icons are fine, they dont need shrinking at all....I just need to re-do them (because the graphics on them are reaaallllllyyyy badly done by me..... I only worked on each one for about 10 mins each, I didnt have enough time to make better ones XD) ESPECIALLY the message icons because they are TERRIBAD. and also the notification window thingo because thats annoyingly yellow as well ^^;

again, im no expert but oh well ^^;

Alright, I've gone ahead and cropped the images. Thankfully, that's all I needed to do. One of the SD sizes that I looked up was 1080 high, just like the ones included, so I just cropped (And in one case split) the images specifically so that each still looked nice. Unfortunately, I'm on Linux, so the compiler to include the new backgrounds doesn't work on my end. Gimme another day, and I can get onto a computer with Windows and compile it myself, or, if you think you can do it on your computer, I can send you the zip with the SD Backgrounds.
Though, while I'm at it, I can tweak that yellow to match the notifications from the show. (If I can find the right episode.) If you want.
